     Health and wellness are key components to students’ success at the University of South Florida. A healthy student has greater learning capacity, manages stress more effectively, and enjoys University life more fully. We each know a classmate, family member, teammate or friend who has struggled with illness or injury. It is hard to balance the complexities of life when one is not feeling well, mentally, physically or perhaps even spiritually. The University offers wonderful services and programs to enhance students’ health and wellness. Did you know there is a dietician who can help with dietary needs in Health Promotion, a part of Student Health Services? Have you heard about the personal growth counseling group in the Counseling Center that discusses concerns such as self-esteem,

 
 

interpersonal relationships, self-knowledge, and social skills? Have you ever visited USF’s Riverfront Park to go canoeing, experience the ropes course or enjoy a picnic? If you have been a victim of a crime or injustice, did you know the Advocacy Program has staff who can help you explore your options? Team Wellness
Team Wellness
Team Wellness is a partnership between Campus Recreation, Counseling Center, and Student Health Services which offers a variety of programs and services to assist students in developing a wellness-oriented lifestyle. Team Wellness approaches a student from a holistic perspective, gives opportunities to enhance learning capacity, and helps students become more successful now and in the future.
Student Health Services
Student Health Services
Student Health Services is an ambulatory-care facility which provides screening and evaluations by nurses; examinations by general-practice physicians, ARNP's, and PA's; laboratory services; a Health Education Department; and specialty clinics in Antigen, and Gynecology. Student Health Services functions as a walk-in clinic with a brief-stay day infirmary.
Counseling Center
Counseling Center
Counseling Center offers comprehensive psychological services designed to enhance the personal, social, educational, and career development of University students. It provides personal counseling services to students, provides consultative services to academic, administrative, and other service units in the University, and serves as a setting for advanced professional training. The Counseling Center also directs the Employee Assistance Program, Veterans Services, Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse, and maintains a liaison with the State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Campus Recreation
Campus Recreation
With over 6,500 square feet of weight room area the campus recreation center has many fitness opportunities and services just waiting for you to enjoy. In addition to the weight room area, there are six indoor racquetball courts, four basketball courts or six volleyball courts and three aerobics/dance rooms. There is also a martial arts mat room where karate, self-defense and other martial arts classes are held.

University of South Florida wants to ensure that students as well as all community members have access to resources that may assist in times of crisis or personal trial. This website offers information about comprehensive professional and emergency care, both on campus and in the greater community for students, faculty, staff and administrators.
Health Promotion
Health Promotion
Health Promotion serves as a resource to the University Community for information on a variety of health and wellness topics. Our mission is to encourage responsible decision-making and positive lifestyle choices. Health Promotion is staffed by health educators, a registered and licensed dietitian, REACH Peer Educators, and other support personnel.

The SHS Insurance Office is staffed with personnel trained to assist the university population in understanding the USF Student Medical Insurance Plan and in assisting international students during the registration process in complying with Florida Administrative Code Rule 6C-6.009(6) and USF Rule 6C4-6.0162.

The mission of Students with Disabilities Services is to operationalize the University's commitment to diversity through careful, diligent, respectful services for USF students with disabilities, the faculty and staff of USF. The mission includes assuring that University policy regarding students with disabilities is implemented in ways consistent with federal and state laws in providing academic support and accommodations to students with disabilities.

Advocacy Program
Empowering survivors of crime, violence or abuse and preventing victimization by promoting the restoration of decision making and control to survivors, by advocating for their rights and honoring their experiences, and through education and collaboration, fostering a safe university community that respects the rights and dignity of all.
Campus Ministries
Campus Ministries
The Campus Ministry Association is an organization of campus ministry professionals who have come together from a wide variety of religious traditions to serve the student body at USF. Each ministry commits to a set of guidelines that serve to protect the students at USF and facilitate their spiritual development.
