Strategic Planning in the USF Division of Student Affairs

     Although the Office of Student Affairs Planning, Evaluation and Assessment was not formally established until 2008, important initiatives in strategic planning and outcomes assessment may be traced back to 2000 and earlier (Go to history documents). A divisional strategic planning process based on CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education) guidelines and extending over 2 ½ years resulted in the adoption of the USF Student Affairs Strategic Plan in February 2009. The plan includes divisional mission, vision and values statements and identified student learning outcomes for the division (Go to Strategic Planning ).

Outcomes Assessment in the USF Division of Student Affairs

     Participation of divisional offices in a formal outcomes assessment program can be traced to 2004, when units joined an institutionally-directed outcomes assessment process. A divisional outcomes assessment process, based on CAS Standards and including specified student learning outcomes, was developed in the fall of 2008 to complement the Division’s strategic planning process (Go to Outcomes Assessment ).

USF Division of Student Affairs Planning & Assessment Team

     Strategic planning and outcomes assessment in the USF Division of Student Affairs are guided by the SA Planning and Assessment Team (PAT), with oversight provided by the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Student Affairs Executive Team and support provided by the Office of Student Affairs Planning, Evaluation and Assessment.
