Meeting Notes of the USF Student Affairs
Planning & Assessment Team
May 5, 2009
Attending: Regina Young Hyatt, Chair; Kimberly Mallard, Gary Manka, Judi Sherman, Olga Skalkos, Steve Milburn, Charlene Herreid
Chair Regina Young Hyatt called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
Bob Varghese visited the team and shared ideas about how to set up the Student Affairs Planning and Assessment website. We explained that we needed a site that was a working website and very easy to operate so that SACS team members would find it simple to understand and navigate. Bob suggested that we nest the PAT website inside the Planning and Assessment website and offered some options for labeling tabs so that it will be easy to find what is wanted. He will work on the website and should have results by our next meeting.
The team then reviewed the proposed USF Student Affairs Planning and Assessment visual model. This model shows a summary of the planning and assessment functions in USF Student Affairs and how they interact with each other. Members applauded Judi Sherman and Regina for coming up with a visual model that was easy to read and understand. The model was particularly helpful for representing the time lines for the two processes. Some minor changes were suggested and Regina will work on them for next time. The model will be posted at the website when it is complete.
The team then reviewed the Student Affairs Expanded List of Outcomes. Verbs have not yet been assigned to all of the different learning outcomes. Regina asked for volunteers to complete this task.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
